History
Claes Nobel, Founder and Chairman of United Earth, has been a committed environmentalist for over three decades. He is the senior member of the Nobel family of Sweden, founders of the Nobel Prize.
In 1972, he attended the breakthrough Stockholm United Nations Conference on the Human Environment credited with launching the global environmental movement, and giving birth to the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP).
In 1974, Nobel founded a non-profit organization called the Earth Aid Society and was reorganized as United Earth in 1984. United Earth is a non-profit and non-governmental organization of the United Nations organized around the Environment and Education.
Claes Nobel has worked with the International Federation of Institutes for Advanced Studies in Stockholm, the Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine in Menlo Park, California, and the Global Forum of Spiritual and Parliamentary Leaders on Human.
He currently serves as Chairman of the National Society of High School Scholars, and is an internationally recognized speaker and lecturer on education and environmental issues.
